APPLE FILM PRODUCTION is a prominent Polish production company, one of the very first independent film productions in CEE countries. The company is run by Dariusz Jablonski together with Violetta Kaminska and Izabela Wojcik. So far, the company has produced and co-produced more than 40 features, a number of documentaries and successful drama series, garnering over 300 international and national awards.
It’s latest productions include: Alexey German Jr.’s Russian-Polish-Serbian (with Eurimages support) DOVLATOV (2018), and Russian-Polish UNDER ELECTRIC CLOUDS (2015), both of which won Silver Bears for Outstanding Artistic Contribution at the Berlin IFF; Ukrainian-Macedonian-Polish WHEN THE TREES FALL premiered in Berlinale Panorama 2018, NUMBERS by Oleg Sentsov premiered at Berlinale Special section 2020 and full length documentary THE TRIAL - THE STATE OF RUSSIA VS. OLEG SENTSOV (Berlinale Special 2017).
Among high‐end drama credits, Apple Film has i.e. two series sold worldwide by BBCW to over 100 countries: THE PASSING BELLS and SPIES IN WARSAW with David Tennant for BBC and Polish Television. In 2019 the company premiered THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLE directed by Dariusz Jablonski, the first ever international drama series, made in coproduction between Poland, Ukraine and Czech Republic, originated, shot and made in Eastern Europe. The series is distributed by Beta Film and already sold to Germany, France, Italy, UK, Ireland, Switzerland, Austria and Belgium (a.i. ARTE, ZDF, RAI, CHANNEL4-Walter Presents and others).
Currently, the company is in producing IMAGO by Olga Chajdas, a Polish-Czech-Dutch co-production awarded by Eurimages Co-production Development Award at CineMart 2019 and Special Mention of ScripTeast 2018, international scriptwriters programme, and presented at Rotterdam-Berlinale Express 2019.
A feature film RHINO by Oleg Sentsov, an Ukrainian-Polish-German co-production with Eurimages support, will premiere in Orizzonti section at the 78th Venice International Film Festival.
